The brief

Even coverage across the nave, nothing to look at.

A sanctuary that finally sounds the way it should. We delivered a discreet multi-zone sound system integrated directly into the church’s coffered ceiling, with parallel video distribution feeding side-mounted displays for liturgical text. Discreet speaker placement provides even coverage across the nave without competing with the architectural details.

Systems
  • Multi-zone sound system in the coffered ceiling
  • Parallel video distribution for liturgical text
  • Side-mounted displays
Design by Hany Salib in collaboration with Philokalia Design
“The best sound system in a church is the one you don't notice.”
Why it works
  1. Speakers sit inside the coffers — the ceiling reads as architecture, not equipment.
  2. Even coverage across the nave for spoken word and chant alike.
  3. Video distribution runs in parallel so liturgical text is visible from every pew.
